Why UX Is More Important Than Design

One of the most important things we discuss with our potential website development clients is about how they want their website to work. Truth is, if you want visitors on your website to follow links or click on call to action buttons and ultimately take the next step, then you have to make your website user friendly. What this means is that when we are designing a website, we make considerations about who the target audience for the site is and how they are going to be using it. All this has to be done before we even think about how the website should look like. A very good example that can be given on this one is if the target audience are adults above the age of 50. When this is the case, we will have to consider the size of the font, the navigation options and do away with some of the most common effects that are trending at the moment.

If you know how your audience are likely to use your website, you can optimize it for a great user experience for them. If they can easily use your website, then they are more likely to contact you about your product/services. And that means more sales for you!

It is also very important to know that people use the internet differently. Younger people for example spend more time on their mobile devices and therefore if you are targeting young people, then you must ensure that the website is mobile responsive. On the other hand, if you are targeting businesses or business owners, it’s very probable that these people will be looking for products and services that you offer when they are at work on their desktop computers or laptops, so having a great desktop experience on your website is key.
